Day 1
As I told you in my first recap, I skipped the second day of the IFB Conference to go shopping and go to the Edun presentation. I headed to my favorite spots, Jeffrey, Christian Louboutin and went into new {well new for me} stores, Rebecca Taylor, Maje and Alexander Wang. The latter three is where I sent my Master Card into serious debt. Oy! Anyway, have y’all been in the Alexander Wang store? You have to go. It’s designed by my interior design dream man, Ryan Korban and it’s beautiful!! I originally posted about it a year ago so if you’d like a tour, click here. I must have been in a dream like state whilst shopping in A. Wang because I left with the most expensive top I’ve ever gotten. But it was worth it! It was the perfect top to wear to the Edun show!
Quick sidenote..So one great thing about blogging is you make all of these friends that you would have never known without this crazy community. Well, my trip to New York was such a blast because I got to meet so many of them in person. I spent the majority of my time at fashion week with Viv and our first “blind date” was to the Edun show. More on Viv in my next recap!
So the show. This was my first one ever and I had a fear that I would show up and give the people my name and they would scream at me, “You are not on the list” and kick me out on the frigid streets of NYC. Well, thankfully that didn’t happen. The PR girls at Edun were actually so nice. While we waited to go in to the show, Viv and I were just hanging out and who walks by us??? Bono! Yeah. In case you aren’t familiar with Edun, he is the co-founder of the label. Anyway, we go into the show and immediately I am drawn in by the amazing light display. How cool were they? Then the show began. Sadly, I didn’t bring my camera {I was afraid they would yell at me for having one and then smash it on the ground…I’m telling you, I have issues}, so these photos are courtesy of Edun. My favorite pieces were all outerwear which may be because the temperature outside was negative 84. But seriously, the motorcycle jackets, vests and tweed pieces were gorge. The booties were another standout for me. While I loved the chain embellished black ones, I wanted to snatch the red booties off the model’s feet!
Day 2
Now this was the day that #nemo hit and I was just not prepared. It wasn’t the storm of the century or anything but walking around in a skirt, tights and Manolo’s was not the best idea, but I wanted to look nice for Jenni Kayne. By the way, I got there and Meredith Melling Burk was wearing jeans and boots so I knew that the next day would be “casual day” for me. Anyway, I can’t even tell you how cool it was to see a Jenni Kayne presentation as she is one of my favorites. Her clothes are sharp, classic pieces with a bit of a California cool girl vibe. And one of Jenni’s inspirations for fall: Bianca Jagger meets 90′s supermodels. Um, soul mates! There were some gorgeous red and emerald pieces and she brought back her first leopard print she ever used. Speaking of leopard, how gorgeous are the leopard d’orsay’s? Â There were d’orsay’s in an array of color as well as kitten heel versions which were super cute.
Also…what’s really funny about this presentations is that the models were so stoic, it reminded me of the guards at Buckingham Palace. The only difference is when you got up close to take their pics, they would turn and stare into your camera. One loved giving me the stare down. She must have heard about my up and coming supermodel career. Notice the second picture from Jenni Kayne.
OK sorry for the super long post.

It seems that you had a wonderful price. So much fun and great pic. I’ve never been to the Alexander Wang store but I’ll make sure I stop by next time I am in the city.
I need to know whose outfit that is…I’m in love with it….you look so good! The models’ behavior is too funny!!
I’m super jealous of your NYFW adventures–and these pictures are awesome! I’m pretty sure every pair of those Jenni Kayne shoes need to get in my closet ASAP.
We’ll just have to spend even more time in Dallas in April
